Lajkonik is a cycling rally intended for people who are experienced and very well prepared physically in long distance cycling. The organizer of the rally is the ULTRAdventure Association based in Krakow registered in the Register of Associations kept by the XI Economic Department of the National Court Register of the District Court for Krakow-Śródmieście in Krakow.
The objective of the rally is to promote cycling tourism as a healthy and environmentally friendly way of spending free time and tourist promotion of the areas through which the route of the rally runs. Lajkonik leads through some of the most interesting and least explored areas of south-eastern Poland, which is to guarantee the participants unhindered contact with nature and the opportunity to get to know places distant from the main communication routes.
The start date of the Rally is set for:
distance 450km 30.04.2023 and will last until 04.05.2023
distance 200km on 01.05.2023 and will run until 04.05.2023
The start itself can take place either from the peloton or split into groups.
I GENERAL PROVISIONS
- Lajkonik is a bicycle rally and is not a sporting event.
- The rally is organised by the ULTRAdventure Association, hereinafter referred to as the Organiser.
- The Organiser undertakes to ensure that participants can record the course of the rally using GPS equipment, which will provide the basis for a classification of time and participants in the rally. The classification is used for the presentation of prizes and promotion of the event in public media, including social media.
- Only a person of full legal age (hereinafter referred to as Participant) with full legal capacity may take part in the Rally.
- Participation in the Rally is voluntary and each participant takes part at his/her own risk, as evidenced by a signed relevant participant statement.
- A competitor taking part in the Rally must not be under the influence of alcohol, intoxicants or doping substances on the list of the Polish Anti-Doping Agency. In the event of circumstances confirming the use of prohibited substances mentioned above, the Organiser will disqualify the Participant.
- The rally route for the ULTRA Lajkonik distance covers 450 km and the time limit to complete it is 90h.
- The rally route for the Lajkonik distance covers 200 km and the time limit to complete it is 80h.
II RALLY RULES AND FORMULA
- The route of the rally for both distances should be covered by a bicycle, which will be propelled only by the Participant’s muscular power. It is forbidden to use bicycles with mechanical, combustion or electric assistance of the power unit of the Participant’s bicycle.
- The rally for the distances of 200km and 450km is conducted in the formula of self-sufficiency, which means that the Participant may only use the things and resources he/she has with him/her since the start of the rally. It is forbidden to use outside support unless such support is available to the same extent and for the same duration to every participant in the rally.
- Replenishment and overnight stays are only possible in infrastructure facilities accessible to each participant. The organisation of overnight accommodation is only possible from the moment the Participant crosses the start line in the Rally and must be carried out by the Participant in person (including electronic means of communication).
- The organiser does not provide accommodation for rally participants.
- Leaving the route of the rally and changing its course is forbidden. It is permitted to leave the route of the rally for any purpose but in order to fulfil the condition of finishing the rally it is necessary for the participant to return to the route exactly in the same place in which he/she left it.
- Assistance and support between participants in the Rally is permitted (and welcomed) without negative consequences for either the giver or the recipient of the assistance.
- During the course of the Rally the participants are obliged to abide by the provisions of the Rally Regulations, which is confirmed by the signing of the Declaration by the Rally participant, as well as the provisions of generally applicable law with particular emphasis on the Traffic Law and private property.
- Due to the fact that the majority of the route leads in areas under legal environmental protection, each participant is obliged to respect the rules of nature protection, in particular to keep order and not to litter along the rally route.
- The time of a Participant’s participation in the Rally is counted non-stop from the start until the Participant crosses the finish line designated by the Organiser.
- Registration for the Rally takes place exclusively via the registration form provided by the Organiser on the Rally website.
- The fees, the rules for paying them and the number of participants are published on the Rally website.
- The participant shall be civilly and legally liable for any damage caused by him/her.
- The organiser, including persons involved in the conduct and organisation of the rally, shall not be liable to participants for personal, material or property damage which occurs before, during or after the race.
III. TECHNICAL CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS
- Each participant in the 200 km and 450 km distances is required to have the following equipment at the start and throughout the course of the rally up to the finish line:
- a technically efficient bicycle (in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 31 December 2002 on technical conditions of vehicles and the scope of their necessary equipment (Journal of Laws of 2016, item 2022, as amended));
- bicycle helmet;
- bicycle tools e.g. multitool, spare set of brake pads for the bicycle the participant is riding;
- front lighting (white illuminating) and rear lighting (red) with a built-in rechargeable power supply, allowing to illuminate the participant as well as the road during the rally;
- charged phone;
- GPS tracker supplied by the organiser and being the official recording device of the Participant’s Rally;
- identity card or passport;
- powerbank;
- devices for navigation and route recording.
IV ROUTE AND RACE
- The rally over both distances will take place regardless of the prevailing weather conditions.
- The detailed route, including the route, time and place of the start, as well as technical information, will be provided by the organiser in the rally communiqué published on the rally website one week before the start of the rally at the latest.
- Due to the nature and duration of the 200km and 450km rallies, the organiser, does not recommend travelling after dark and driving non-stop, but this is not prohibited.
- Trackers, which the organiser will equip all participants with, will give the possibility of tracking the rally participant’s position directly from the organiser’s and/or service provider’s website.
- A participant in the Rally is obliged to return the tracker provided by the Organiser immediately after crossing the finish line.
- Damage, loss or failure to return the tracker by the Participant will result in the Organiser charging the Participant a fee of PLN 600.
- The total limit of participants in the Rally for all distances is 500 places, although the organiser reserves the right to change the limit of participants.
- In the event of a tracker malfunction or any other situation requiring verification of a participant’s finishing time, the Organiser is entitled to request the participant to present a track record of the rally route from the participant’s device.
V FEES
- In order to participate in the rally, it is necessary to sign up by completing the entry form available on the organiser’s website and paying the entry fee.
- From 1.12.2022 the entry fee for distances 200km and 450km is PLN 399. The closing date for entries for all distances is 30.04.2023 or the date on which the start list is filled with 500 competitors for all distances in total. The date on which the entry fee is credited to the Organiser’s bank account will be decisive for the order of registration and the amount of payment.
- The rally participant is entitled to a refund of
- -100% of the entry fee until 28.02.2023
- -75% of the entry fee until 15.03.2023
- -50% of the entry fee until 31.03.2023
After this date (31.03.2023|), the Organiser will allocate the entire Entry Fee to expenses related to the organisation of the Rally and therefore the Participant loses the right to a refund of the Entry Fee.

VI PRIZES AND A STARTER PACK
- Each rally participant will receive an entry packet and the right to receive a prize for taking part in the rally. The right to the full participation package is conditional on payment of the entry fee to the Organiser’s bank account by 30.03.2023. After this date, if the payment is not credited, the participant loses the right to receive from the Organiser a set of accessories and clothing with the Rally logo.
- The start package includes for the 200km and 450km distances:
- Starting number in Lajkonik/Ultra Lajkonik
- Tracker GPS
- Possibility of deposit
- Admission to the integration event on the eve of the rally
- Recovery meal after crossing the finish line
- Participants who complete the 200km and 450km rallies within the time limit will receive:
- Finisher’s T-shirt
- Commemorative trophy
- Recovery meal
- The organiser envisages prizes for the winners of the 200 km and 450 km distances in the open category and the women’s category, as well as prizes drawn among the participants who have completed the rally.
FINAL PROVISIONS
- The Rally participant agrees that the Organiser may use and process his/her personal data for the purposes of the UltraLajkonik and to include his/her name and surname on the website, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018. (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1781) and to receive information by electronic means in accordance with the Act on Provision of Electronic Services of 18 July 2002 (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 344). The participant has the right to request access to data, rectification, deletion or restriction of processing and to object to processing, as well as the right to data portability. The provision of personal data and the ongoing consent to their processing are voluntary, but necessary and essential for participation in the Rally.
- The controller of personal data within the meaning of the Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016. (RODO) is the ULTRAdventure Association based in Krakow, Poland.
- The Organiser has the right to cancel the Marathon for reasons beyond the Organiser’s control, in particular the pandemic situation related to Covid-19, administrative decisions of state authorities, acts of force majeure.
- Any matters not covered by these rules shall be decided by the Organiser.
- The Organiser reserves the right to change the regulations at any time. In the event of a change to the regulations, the Organiser undertakes to publish the changes on the Rally website no later than 24 hours after the changes have been made.
